The Community STEMM Academy (C-STEMM) pipeline program is held in partnership with Charles R. Drew University of Â鶹´«Ã½Å®Íøºì and Lynwood Unified School District. The purpose of this program is to expose students in elementary school and middle school to hands on STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) activities. Community STEMM Academy aims to spark the desire in participating students to pursue careers in STEMM.
Our curriculum centers around the following topics: human anatomy and physiology, space science, earth science, biomedical engineering, global health among others. Our educational strategy involves encouraging students to remain engaged through hands-on activities. We empower our students by providing them with mentorship opportunities with our STEMM instructors and other STEMM professionals from underrepresented communities. We inspire our students to pursue these careers to serve the community and mitigate or reduce the disparities in the healthcare industry and in other STEMM fields.
